2nd Annual Ute Mountain Ute Tree Planting Retreat
Join us in celebrating the success of our 2nd Annual Ute Mountain Ute Tree Planting Retreat! With the help of 10 Ute Mountain Ute youth and 4 chaperones, we hiked to High Camp and planted 50 Blue Spruce and 5 Doug Fir trees in the beautiful meadow’s edge soil. The trees were mulched, encircled by local rock, and watered, preparing them for the winter season ahead. This event, focused on Reparation, Recreation, Reciprocity, and Reforestation, represents our commitment to environmental restoration and youth involvement. Sponsored by San Miguel County, CAASE, Telluride Foundation, and Telluride Institute, this project is helping to create a greener future. Watch the full video and learn more about our efforts to restore local forests!
